EMCSD School Board Meeting
Monthly meeting of the EMCSD School Board. This is a public meeting that allows any community member to hear district leaders provide their monthly report to the School Board and to hear discussion on matters affecting EMCSD students and employees. Any community member is allowed to voice their concern(s) during the public comment period that typically takes place after district leaders conclude their report. To address the School Board, you must complete a “request to speak” card and hand it to the Executive Secretary prior to the start of the meeting. Individual speakers are allowed 3 minutes to address the Board.

District Safety Committee Meeting
The third meeting of the “District-wide Safety Committee”. This committee was created as a result of negotiated language in Article XIII (Safety) that establishes a district-wide safety committee that makes recommendations for uniform safety procedures and develop related handbook(s) addressing environmental, health, safety and violence prevention concerns.
Rio Hondo Site Visit
EMETA representatives will be on campus to listen and document member concerns and to inform members of important issues.
Lunch and snacks will be provided.
EMETA Site Vist at Rio Hondo
Members of EMETA Executive Board will be on campus to meet with members during their break to record their concerns. Snacks and lunch are provided. Check your personal email for a message from MaryEsther Espinosa with information about how you can place your sandwich order.
CTA Special Education Conference
The CTA Special Education Conference features sessions full of strategies, insights and proven research to support you and your exceptional students. This year’s theme is Building Bridges: Families, Educators, and Specialists Working Together to Serve the Whole Student.
Join us for a robust program that dives into not only classroom pedagogy, but specific strategies for collaboration, communication, and successful outcomes.

CTA LGBTQ+ Issues Conference
This year’s theme is The Time is Now: Empowering our Community with Knowledge and Love. Audre Lorde famously said: “Without community, there is no liberation.” Inspired by her words, this year’s LGBTQ+ Issues Conference invites participants to consider what’s possible and necessary to cultivate safe spaces of resilience, strength, and unity. Sessions provided at this conference will foster liberatory learning communities for LGBTQ+ peoples and co-conspirators; heighten awareness and advocacy around anti-LGBTQ+ policies; as well as strengthen organizing skills across school districts and local chapters.

CTA New Educator Weekend
CTA’s New Educator Weekend (NEW) is a conference for new CTA members. This NEW conference is for educators in their first three years in the profession. The conference has everything that educators need to be successful in their first years of teaching, including sessions about classroom management, creating engaging classrooms, lesson plans and ideas, connecting with your union, student loan forgiveness information, member benefits, project grants and more.
