EMCSD School Board Meeting

Monthly meeting of the EMCSD School Board. This is a public meeting that allows any community member to hear district leaders provide their monthly report to the School Board and to hear discussion on matters affecting EMCSD students and employees. Any community member is allowed to voice their concern(s) during the public comment period that typically takes place after district leaders conclude their report. To address the School Board, you must complete a “request to speak” card and hand it to the Executive Secretary prior to the start of the meeting. Individual speakers are allowed 3 minutes to address the Board.

This committee was created as a result of negotiated language in Article XIII (Safety) that establishes a district-wide safety committee that makes recommendations for uniform safety procedures and develop related handbook(s) addressing environmental, health, safety and violence prevention concerns.

CTA LGBTQ+ Issues Conference

This year’s theme is The Time is Now: Empowering our Community with Knowledge and Love. Audre Lorde famously said: “Without community, there is no liberation.” Inspired by her words, this year’s LGBTQ+ Issues Conference invites participants to consider what’s possible and necessary to cultivate safe spaces of resilience, strength, and unity. Sessions provided at this conference will foster liberatory learning communities for LGBTQ+ peoples and co-conspirators; heighten awareness and advocacy around anti-LGBTQ+ policies; as well as strengthen organizing skills across school districts and local chapters.
